Ne’jha Cox was on a quick evening run to the store on May 18, 2024. She intended to pick up juice for her 2-year-old son. The outing, however, turned fatal for Cox, who was in the vehicle with her son. The car was targeted by members of the YSL gang. The group was searching for the shooter behind the Lil Baby music video shooting in Atlanta, Georgia on May 13, 2024. Eventually, the group misidentified the car Cox was driving as the shooter. She was killed in front of her son.

So far, one man has been convicted of the 21-year-old’s murder. But the investigation is far from over.

Now, The Shadow Room’s Justin Carter is speaking with Fulton County Senior Assistant District Attorney Amanda Green on ‘ TSR Investigates .’ What’s next in getting justice for Ne’jha Cox?

More details on the deadly YSL mix-up that led to Ne’jha Cox being killed

Speaking to Carter, Green explained that Lil Baby’s May 2024 music video shoot was targeted by a gunman from a rival gang. She further explained that the shooter was believed to be a resident of the same community that Cox was seen leaving on May 18, 2024.

Surveillance footage from the night captured a gray vehicle apparently scanning the area. Minutes later, three individuals in hoodies are seen walking through the area. Finally, the footage shows the vehicle Cox was driving apparently being ambushed by bullets.

The “worst part,” Green says, is that Cox’s son witnessed the whole thing.

Will the YSL gang be brought to justice for the shooting?

Per Carter, it was determined that the shooter behind the Lil Baby music video shooting drove a blue Nissan. Additionally, the Nissan driven by Cox on the fatal night was black.

Jamal Baker was eventually identified as one of the three hooded individuals. Per Green, his legal team, however, apparently intended to put up the best fight possible to protect their client. Scroll through above to watch as Amanda Green breaks down the evidence used to convict Baker. Plus, she explains why the YSL gang needs to be brought to justice. Finally, Carter shares a statement from Baker’s defense detailing how the DA’s office plans to bring the other two shooters to justice.
