Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart called off their divorce earlier this year amid her ALS diagnosis, and he recently gave an update on the status of their relationship.
For some backstory, in March, the 53-year-old actress filed to dismiss her divorce petition against the 52-year-old Euphoria actor more than 7 years after she initially filed it. If you don’t know, they tied the knot in 2004 and share two daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13.

During an interview with ABC that aired this week, Eric said, “I call Rebecca. I talk to her every day. We’ve become better friends and better parents. And she’s probably my biggest champion, my strongest advocate, and I lean on her.”
This week, Eric also walked the red carpet with a woman rumored to be his girlfriend, Janell Shirtcliff .
In April, Rebecca shared an update on her relationship with Eric .
“We’re the best of friends. We’re really close. We’re great coparents,” Rebecca told E! News on April 9. “We’ve really figured out the formula for staying in a family and I think our kids are benefiting so much from that and so are we.”
Rebecca went on to admit that she and Eric encountered many ups and downs throughout their relationship.
“I think it’s important not to look at a relationship that ends as a failure. It’s just a season. It wasn’t a failure. It was a huge success,” Rebecca explained. “We were married, I mean, we’re still married, but we were together for 15 years and we had two beautiful children, so I think that’s a successful relationship, and that’s how we look at it.”
