So, we have confirmed Days of Our Lives spoilers that tell us that Tate’s jaw drops when Sophia tells him she’s going into labor while the teens are getting ready to get their diplomas at Salem High School’s graduation ceremony. But we all know how things go in Salem. Just like weddings and other important occasions, things rarely go off without a hitch. So, let’s delve deeper into the bizarre happenings and where this twisted story takes us.
Right now, we know that Sophia is ready to show off Tate’s baby at any moment, even though her due date technically isn’t for another few weeks. Sophia and Tate and Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) and Aaron Greene (Louis Tomeo) are all together. They’re in their caps and gowns, and that’s when Sophia’s job at the school starts. So the high school janitor can have a hallway cleanup three of her water breaks right there in the school hallway.
Will Sophia’s baby survive? Potential medical complications
So what is the fate of her and Tate’s soon-to-be-born baby? There are some critical questions that need to be answered and some twisted possibilities. First of all, we have to ask—this is terrible, but we have to ask—Will Sophia’s baby survive? She’s been on modified bed rest for the past few weeks. Even though Tate wanted to take her to prom, Sophia had to sacrifice this fun high school milestone for the health of Tate and Tate’s baby.
And we know that Sophia goes into labor about two weeks early and she had high blood pressure issues. That’s what put her in bed. And that can be really dangerous for both mother and baby, if you’ve experienced it yourself or if you know someone who has, preeclampsia is no joke. So there could be some kind of complication for Sophia or the baby or both.
We could see Days of Our Lives have some kind of intense, life-saving medical procedure needed for Tate and Sophia’s baby or just the mother. Then, absolutely, we could see a dramatic twist with lives hanging in the balance. Will they survive? Will they not survive? That kind of drama. Hopefully, everything works out.
DNA Drama: Could Aaron Be the Father?

But perhaps with John Black (Drake Hogestyn) suddenly passing away, Chanel could help Johnny see life is too short to waste time on what he’s got—and reassure him he’d make a wonderful father.
And if Sofia has a boy, Chanel could suggest adopting him and naming him John because Johnny is also John Black’s namesake. And that would be an awesome Days of Our Lives tribute. So maybe Chanel and Johnny will get the baby after all, but Chanel would have her work cut out for her convincing her husband that they should adopt Sophia and Tate’s baby because he definitely seems against it and doesn’t think he deserves to be a father.
Tate as a Single Father? A Twist in the Adoption Story
Of course, there’s always the chance of a major twist that Tate could reject the adoption and decide, you know what, Sophia, you’re going to college. I’ll raise the baby as a single parent if an adoptive couple can’t be found. Obviously, the black family would step up and support him. Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) has already said as much. Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) would be thrilled.
So his grandfather, John, was a single dad for a while when Brady was a baby. So it’s not unprecedented. Tate could follow in John’s footsteps in that way.
