Charlize Theron Is Not Holding Back Her Thoughts On This Matter.
The 49-year-old actress spoke to The New York Times recently about the double standard that exists in Hollywood when it comes to action films.
According to Charlize , women only have one chance to be in an action movie before they are written off.

“Action movies with female leads don’t get as much green light as those with male leads. I think what always frustrates me is the fact that the guys get a free ride,” Charlize told the publication.
She went on to say that if an action film starring a woman doesn’t do well, they won’t get the same chance again the way a man would.
“When women do that and the movie might not fully hit the mark, they don’t necessarily get a chance again. With that, we knew everyone was watching us. It’s not a risk studios want to take, but they’ll often take it on the same guy who might have a string of action movies that didn’t do so well,” Charlize, who stars in the Netflix action film The Old Guard 2, said.
