Kirsten Storms is leaving General Hospital – but it won’t be for good.
The 41-year-old actress has played the role of Maxie Jones on General Hospital since 2005. She previously took a short break from the show in 2011 to 2012 when Jen Lilley took over.
Now, she’s taking another break from the show for a very exciting reason.

On Monday (July 7), Kirsten announced via her Instagram that she would be taking a temporary break from General Hospital so she can move to Tennessee.
She captioned the video: “I’m so excited to make Tennessee my home! I can’t wait to return to [ General Hospital ] once Harper and I are settled in our new town.”
During her absence, Nicole Paggi will be taking over as Kirsten for two episodes. Following these episodes, Kirsten will appear in pre-filmed episodes as she settles into her Tennessee home.
In the video, Kirsten teased when she would return to filming General Hospital and said it’s “possible” she will return in November or December of this year.
She continued, “I promise you the storyline they have going on until my return to Port Charles is going to be amazing. You guys are going to freak out, actually.”
