Tracy Ifeachor is not returning for the second season of The Pitt which is shocking news for fans of the HBO Max medical drama.
The actress played the role of Dr. Heather Collins in the first season of the acclaimed series, but she was not featured in the show’s final episodes, after making her final appearance in episode 11 of 15.
Collins, who was previously in a relationship with Noah Wyle , Dr. Robby, had a miscarriage during the day we saw in season 1. Robby told her to go home and rest.
“Go home, turn off the phone,” Robby said, and he couldn’t get hold of her when the mass shooting occurred.
Tracy’s absence from the season one finale was story-driven, but it’s unclear why she won’t return for season two. TVLINE confirmed the departure after Tracy took to Instagram to post about how it was “a blessing to be a part of this first, pivotal season of #Thepitt on @Hbomax. It was an absolute privilege to play Dr. Heather Collins in such a groundbreaking season and play.”

Tracy was previously vague about her future on the show.
Regarding the second season, she previously told Us Weekly, “Listen, there’s going to be an incredible cast in season two—just like there was in season one. I’m just going to leave it there. I’m not a [plot] ruiner. I’m not even going to tell you who is or isn’t coming back. I’m just going to say I want you to watch season two and just enjoy it as much as you watched season one. I hope there’s a season three, a season four, and a season seven.”
