The season finale of Criminal Minds: Evolution just aired and fans may have questions about Zach Gilford’s fate on the show after this episode!
The 43-year-old actor joined the franchise in season 16, the first season of Criminal Minds with the new subtitle Evolution . After recurring that season, he became a series regular as Elias Voit in seasons 17 and 18.
Now, it has been confirmed that Zach will definitely be back for the upcoming 19th season.

“The more we talked, we thought we had one more season to really explore other things with him and the team,” showrunner and executive producer Erica Messer told Ew . “You’ll see him in every episode of season 19. He’s a prisoner again, but in a very different way than he was in season 17. He’ll be a resource for us.”
Voit was arrested at the end of season 18 and we will follow him in prison next season.
