The Game Voucher program is a great way to save on Nintendo’s first-party lineup. Sold in pairs, for $100, players can receive two vouchers redeemable in the Nintendo eShop for a variety of games . Since full-price Switch games retail for $60—or $70, for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Realm —Game Vouchers are one of the few ways to get Nintendo exclusives at a discounted price.
Nintendo is notorious for rarely reducing the price of its first-party titles, and when it does put games on sale, these discounts aren’t as steep as one might expect. For example, the eight-year-old Super Mario Odyssey was recently discounted from its MSRP of $60 to $40, making it an absolute bargain. Because of these rare sales, game coupons have been a great way to save a few bucks on new Nintendo releases.
Nintendo of Europe announced the discontinuation of vouchers on Thursday, but did note that “Switch titles will continue to be added to the Game Voucher catalog throughout 2026.” While we don’t yet know what games Nintendo has in store for the original Switch next year, Pokémon Legends: Za and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond are Nintendo’s 2025 lineup, though the latter hasn’t yet received a firm release date. Both titles will be available for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
