When preparing your mecha for Break Mecha Extraction mode, equipping mods is a priority. They allow you to customize your giant robot and maximize its strengths while working around its weaknesses.
Every attacker in Break Mecha has a unique skill set and playstyle that you’ll want to enhance with mods. Acquiring them is part of the gameplay loop if you plan on crafting the perfect mecha. Our Break Mecha guide will help you understand not only how mods work, but also how to obtain them .
How mods work in break mecha
In Break Mecha, mods are special items you can equip to your attacker to change the machine’s attributes. While mods are a central aspect of the game, you should keep in mind that mod effects only work in Mashmak Mode .
Equipping a mod, which you can do in the “Mods” tab in the “Operation Storm” menu, always increases one attribute of the mech while decreasing another . For example, a mod might reduce your attacker’s energy consumption, but it will also increase the amount of energy it takes to jump off the ground.
There are five types of mods: Corixium Cascade Engine, Carbotanium Skeleton, Propulsion System, Corixium Muscle, and Mindbridge Cockpit, each corresponding to a specific attacker part. You can equip up to three mods for each part.
Mods are available in four rarity levels (fine, superb, rare, and flawless). In our experience with the game, we haven’t been able to determine whether some attributes are only modified by high-level mods or some other distinction.
How to get mods in Mecha Break
There are a few main methods for obtaining mods. You can participate in Extraction Missions in Mashmak mode , or spend lower-tier mods to craft higher-tier ones .
“Operation Storm” is the extraction mode in Break Mecha , also known as Mashmak mode. During these missions, you’ll need to fight enemies, who will most often drop Mod Crates . After defeating them, you can loot the remains of the robotic body to grab these crates.
However, looting is only part of the process. You need to survive and exit the operation using one of the Extraction Points to actually obtain the items you looted. After exiting the mission, you can access the “Inventory” tab to open your crates. Each crate grants you a random mod of the same tier as the crate .
Now, if you have multiple low-tier mods and want to secure the better ones without risking your life on an extraction mission, you’ll need to craft them using the mod assembly system . You’ll find it in the “Mods” tab at the bottom left of the screen.
When building a mod, you can use 10 lower-tier mods and some Matrix Credits to create a mod of the next tier. For example, if you have 10 rare mods, you can create a flawless mod. This is the best option to ensure you’re getting a stronger mod, but it doesn’t determine the buffs and debuffs it will have.
