Customizing Your Mecha Changing its appearance is part of the fun in Break Mecha . Simply changing the colors can make your favorite attacker look more ferocious. The game offers a variety of cosmetics—except skins—for free, but many still need to be unlocked.

While you can’t get your hands dirty with grease and extreme internal modifications, you can make your mech literally shine on the battlefield by adding special paint or seasonal patterns.

In this guide, we explain How to customize your mecha and Unlock more cosmetics in Break Mecha.

How to Customize Your Attacker in Mecha Break

To customize your attackers, go to the Attacker Design menu in the Attacker Bay tab. This is where all the visual modifications happen. For stat-based changes, you’ll want to use mods, a specific type of customization that changes the mecha’s attributes only during Mashmak mode.

When changing the appearance of your mecha, there are five different menus that allow you to modify certain visual aspects in the attacker design menu:

  • Skin: Completely change the appearance of specific parts of an attacker.
  • Paint: Use paint options to dye the mecha’s body.
  • Pattern: Place a decal in a predetermined location on the Mecha’s body.
  • Insignia: Unique symbols that function as badges, indicating your accomplishments.
  • Accent: Change the color of small details on the attacker’s body.

The paint option is the one you’ll probably spend the most time changing when customizing melees. You can paint the entire body at once or work on specific body parts, such as painting just the arms or weapons.

When applying a pattern , you can choose where you want the decal to appear, but you can’t have more than one equipped. You can also place up to five badges on your body wherever you want.

As of this writing, skins only change certain parts of an attacker, such as its wings or weapons. None of the skin options change the entire mecha. The game doesn’t offer full skin sets .

If you don’t like the changes you made, you can always reset your attacker’s appearance to default for free. You can also have up to three slots to save custom designs for each attacker in the game. The first slot is free, but you’ll need to unlock the other two by paying 2,000 mission tokens each.

If you’re looking to expand the list of cosmetics you own, there are a few options.

The best—and cheapest—method allows you to acquire special paints for free. Playing Mashmak Mode and completing extraction missions, you can find paint kits looted from enemy bodies. Opening one of these grants a random special paint to dye your mech.

As with all other items found in Mashmak mode, you can only open dye kits after completing the mission using one of the extraction points. This will cause all materials and dye kits to appear in your inventory, where you can use them to obtain your new rare colors.

To get more skins and patterns, you can spend Quest Tokens , which you earn by playing the game. In the “Logistics” tab, you can see all the seasonal skins and patterns available for purchase. You can also spend these same tokens on a Supply Crate, a loot box that gives you a chance to get the current season’s skins and patterns—but only if you’re lucky.

You can also find a special pattern as part of the current “Seasonal Set.” However, all items in this set cost Corite , the currency you get by exchanging real-world money. We’re not 100% sure if these sets disappear once the season ends, or if they will remain in some form afterward.
