Ed Sheeran Says There’s One Person Who Can Make Or Break A New Song When You Play It To Them.
The 34-year-old “Shape of You” singer was a guest on Kylie Kelce’s The Not Gonna Lie podcast on Thursday’s (July 10) episode.
During the episode, Ed revealed the reason why he sometimes credits his wife, Cherry Seaborn , on his hit songs.

“ Cherry can kill a song,” Ed shared on the episode, saying that he doesn’t play new music for his wife if she’s not in the mood because he’ll choose not to release it if she doesn’t seem excited enough about it.
Ed also told Cherry that liking a song can encourage you to finish working on it and release it faster. He shared that her feedback is exactly what convinced him to finish his song “Bad Habits” before the other songs he was working on during that time.
“And I remember I got home, I had listened to all of them in the car and I was kind of excited about most of them and I threw them to [ Cherry ]. And she was like, ‘That one, that one ‘Bad Habits.’ That’s what you should finish tomorrow,’” Ed revealed in the podcast episode.
