Chip Hot has announced their first greatest hits album. Joy in Repetition is released on September 5th via Domino Records. Today, the band shared a new track, “Devotion,” as well as three detailed fall concerts to celebrate the album’s release.
Joy in Repetition is named after the lyrics of the song “Over Over Over,” as well as one of Alexis Taylor’s favorite songs by Prince. “There’s joy in doing something over and over again,” Taylor said in a press release. “That’s true of rhythms, grooves, and records together for 20 years. We’re still doing it. We still love doing it.”
Taylor describes the new song “Devotion” as “a celebration of devotion to doing this project together… I think of [bandmate] Joe [Godard] as being Brian Wilson, with this huge dedication to figuring out how to make the most amazing pop music.”

Hot Chip will also play three shows to celebrate Joy in Replay later in September in London, New York, and Los Angeles. Hot Chip will also play a handful of DJ sets at European and UK festivals this summer, and tickets are available now (get tickets here ).
Hot Chip released their eighth album , Freakout/Release 2022, via Domino. Last year, the band reissued their debut album as Coming Strong for its 20th anniversary.
