Nezza is facing backlash after his recent performance at Dodgers Stadium.
On Saturday (June 14), the 32-year-old singer-songwriter of Colombian-Dominican descent was invited to sing the “Star Spangled Banner” at a Los Angeles Dodgers game.
Despite being advised not to, Nezza performed the national anthem in Spanish in solidarity with immigrant families who were targeted in recent ice attacks in LA
In a new interview, Nezza said she was told she was no longer “welcome” at the stadium after her performance.
Read on to find out more…“As I was walking back, we got a call and they said, ‘Don’t ever email us again,'” Nezza told Variety . “‘Don’t ever call us again. Your customers are never welcome here again.'”
Nezza ‘s claims directly contradict what the Dodgers have previously said about his performance.
“There have been no consequences or hard feelings from the Dodgers regarding her performance,” a Dodgers spokesperson told Dodgers Variety . “She has not been asked to leave. We would be happy to have her back.”
Nezza said he was “confused” by the Dodgers’ statement.
“I don’t know who’s not communicating there, or if they don’t know that she said that to us, and now they’re learning that,” she said. “But yeah, no one has reached out directly to us yet.”
On the same day as her performance at the Dodgers game, Nezza got very emotional talking about her decision to sing the national anthem in Spanish.
