A former McDonald’s chef has revealed why Coca-Cola tastes better than any other version you normally drink.
For years, McDonald’s customers have been trying to figure out why their Coke tastes better than anything you’d get from a can, a bottle, or any other restaurant. Is there a unique formula? Does it have something to do with the wait time? Or is it all a placebo?
There have been varying responses over the years. The Golden Arches have always maintained that they don’t have a real secret sauce and that they use the same formula as everyone else. However, it’s a bit colder than when you get a Coke from other places.

According to former McDonald’s chef Mike Haracz, the big secret behind Coca-Cola’s taste is all about its straws. Seriously.
Haracz, who has built a huge social media following by revealing some of the restaurant’s biggest secrets, told Delirium that the straws are larger than normal.
This, according to the former chef, makes his sip “inherently tastier” than anywhere else.
The size of the straw is something that has also been speculated about previously, with many comparisons being made by curious customers.
McDonald’s noted that they are “a little wider than a typical straw,” so “all that Coca-Cola flavor can hit your taste buds.”
Another big secret? The syrup is delivered to McDonald’s stores differently than anywhere else. They’ve had a partnership with Coca-Cola since the 1950s, and Coca-Cola is delivered to restaurants in refrigerated metal tanks. This isn’t the case for everyone.
