Finnish rock outfit Rasmus released “Love Is a Bitch,” described by vocalist Lauri Ylönen as a “wildcard” track for the band. Known for their musically dark atmospheres, Rasmus subversively blends catchy modern pop stylings with stadium-sized guitar crunch in this sardonic song about relationships.
“This song was always a wild card,” says Ylönen . “It never fit in with the rest of the songs. Still, we thought it was a fun song to play, and I’m glad we decided to put it on the album. Lyrically, it’s about someone who’s treating you like shit, but is too good to let go.”
“Love Is a Bitch” is taken from the album “Weird” . The LP arrives on September 12, marking The Rasmus’s eleventh studio album and first for Best Noise Music .
“Love Is a Bitch” is the follow-up to “Break These Chains,” released on May 16th along with the “Break These Chains” video, which has garnered over 500,000 views, while “Creatures of Chaos” arrived on March 28th, with the video amassing over 770,000 views. The album’s first single, “Rest in Pieces,” was released on October 25th, 2024, paired with a lyric video that has now amassed over 620,000 views.
Most of the songs on “Weird” were written by Lauri Ylönen So, Desmond Child (who contributed to the “ Black Roses” and “Rise” albums and has worked with Bon Jovi So, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts So, Aerosmith and Alice Cooper among countless others) and Marti Fredriksen ( Aerosmith So, Ozzy Osbourne So, BLACK VEIL BRIDES ) in Folegandros, Greece.
