Few artists can easily generate such fervent anticipation as Paul McCartney. After decades at the pinnacle of global superstardom, the legendary musician has mastered the art of creating frenzy through subtle teasers and last-minute surprises, and he did just that today with a post to his Instagram Story . There’s not much to go on, but the photo and the linked sign-up page seem to hint at the 2025 US tour dates.

In McCartney’s story photo, there are two guitar picks that say “Paul McCartney” and “Got Back 2025.” “Got Back” was the name of his latest world tour, which began with a US run from April to June 2022 before traveling the globe with a finale at London’s O2 Arena last December, which saw him reunite onstage with Ringo Starr, Ronnie Wood, and his famous, long-lost original bass guitar. McCartney has been off the road since then, except for three intimate, last-minute shows at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, a closing set at the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live, and a recent outing with Bruce Springsteen in Liverpool.

Then, in the less hermetic kind of speculation his stature inspires, there’s the fact that McCartney’s choices are adorned in red, white, and blue. Furthermore, “Get Back,” the eclectic blues hit Let It Be , which headlined his latest tour, hits American soil with JoJo’s move from “Tucson, Arizona” to “Some California Grass.” It may very well be wishful thinking, but there’s no telling what might be in store until information comes back from the linked Paulmccartney.com , which promises “information on tour dates, pre-orders, and more…”

While away from the stage, McCartney has been keeping busy with other creative endeavors, including an exhibition of his photos from the Beatles’ first U.S. tour with Gagosian and the announcement of Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run, his new book to be published by Liveright on November 5.
