Phillipa Soo and Josh Gad are rounding out the star-studded cast of the upcoming Hollywood Bowl production of Jesus Christ Superstar !
The Tony-nominated actors joined the cast as Mary Magdalene and King Herod, respectively.
Previously announced cast members include Cynthia Erivo as Jesus, Adam Lambert as Judas, Milo Manheim as Peter, and Raul Esparza as Pontius Pilate.
“’Jesus, I’m so happy to meet you face to face…’ The @hollywoodbowl will never be the same when @adamlambert, @phillipasoo, @cynthiaerivo, myself and this extraordinary cast are done with this,” Josh wrote on Instagram with the photo below from the rehearsals.
Other newly announced actors for the three-night-only production are Zachary James as Caiaphas, Tyrone Huntley as Simon, and Brian Crum as Annas.
Tony Award winner Sergio Trujillo will direct and choreograph the highly anticipated production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice ‘s classic musical . Performances will take place on August 1, 2, and 3 at the famed Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
