The US Sun exclusively revealed that Howie Mandel made a comment that made the audience gasp.
Other members reportedly exclaimed that the words were “disgusting” when they filmed auditions for season 20 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
A source present at the recording said Howie was heard making a NSFW joke about co-star Sofia when the American Idol alum was on stage.
“During the audition, Howie said Sofia should come on stage and ‘be close . ‘ Apparently, he was implying that it would be funny to have Sofia on stage topless, like the contestants.
“When he said this, those nearby who heard the comment gasped, with some even saying it was ‘disgusting,'” the source claimed.
However, they added that Howie was “clearly joking” and while Sofia’s jaw briefly dropped when she heard the joke, she didn’t appear to take offense.
