Pirated software has lost more than 100,000 YouTube subscribers in just two weeks as backlash continues over its controversial stance in the Stop Killing Gaming movement .

Pirate’s channel has seen a sharp decline since June 23, around the same time that Ross Scott, founder of the SKG campaign, posted a video on his cursed farm channel titled The End of Stop Killing Games.

In his response, Scott accused the pirate of undermining the movement and misrepresenting its goals in his original 2023 video . The pirated software has faced substantial backlash since then, with the SKG petition far surpassing its goal of one million signatures.

Pirated software continues to bleed subscribers

According to Social Blade, Pirate Software’s channel lost 110,000 subscribers between June 26 and July 9. That number increases to 120,000 if the data range is expanded to the last 30 days.

Daily losses peaked at 20,000 on June 26, continuing to decline by another 10,000 in the following days.

Pirated software lost more than 100,000 subscribers between June 25 and July 9, 2025.

During a Twitch stream on July 4th, Pirate, real name Jason Thor Hall, claimed he had received death threats and was devastated as a result of his SKG video. “I hope your initiative gets everything you asked for, but nothing you wanted,” he said, referring to the campaign.

As of this writing, the Stop Killing Games EU Citizens initiative has garnered over 1.2 million signatures.
