Sony Music Central America & Caribbean makes a big splash in the Dominican market through a new partnership with Santiago Matias’ Alofoke music.
Sony Music Central America and the Caribbean (CAC) has announced a strategic partnership with Alofoke Music Group, seeking to establish a larger footprint in the Dominican music industry. The collaboration aims to promote Dominican music and artists globally, focusing on cultivating genres such as reggaeton , dembow , and bachata .
The partnership will leverage Santiago “Alofoke” Matias’s strong presence and influence in the Dominican music scene, including his digital platforms and artist relationships. By leveraging Sony Music’s global distribution and marketing capabilities, the partnership is expected to create new opportunities for Dominican artists, providing access to Sony’s expansive resources for development, promotion, and outreach.
Additionally, the agreement sees Sony Music CAC become the exclusive distributor of all Alofoke releases, while acquiring the label’s catalog. Alofoke Music has generated over 762 million global streams to date. This includes viral hits like “Que Linda” by Lomieel, Donaty, and Papera, and “Baje Con Trenza” by El Cherry Scom and Ozuna.
In particular, Alofoke Music has been a driving force in expanding Dominican Dembow’s reach, especially through Matias’ YouTube and his Santo Domingo radio show.
“This alliance is the result of a shared vision rooted in innovation and legacy, with our eyes firmly set on the future of music,” said Matias. “Partnering with Sony Music not only validates the years of work we’ve poured into building a platform for talent, but also opens the door for new generations to break down barriers and bring their sound to global audiences.”
“We are thrilled to join forces with Alofoke, who is a monumental figure in the music and media space in the Dominican Republic and beyond,” added Sony Music CAC President Melissa Exposito. “What he represents in terms of community, culture, and championing talent aligns perfectly with our vision.”
