HBO shares the first photo of Dominic McLaugh as Harry Potter for the upcoming TV series, as production begins. The show will premiere in 2027.
HBO has found the next generation of Harry Potter leads. The studio has announced the three child actors who will play the coveted roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley. Dominic McLaughlin will play the title character, Arabella Stanton will play Hermione, and Alastair Stout will appear as Ron. The show’s executives announced the news with the statement: “The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we can’t wait for the world to witness their magic together on screen. […] It has been a true pleasure to discover the wealth of young talent out there.”

Nick Frost has been cast as Rubeus Hagrid, previously played by Robbie Coltrane in seven of the eight Harry Potter films. HBO shared a first look at Frost as the lovable giant, writing: “Everyone ready? ‘Before we go!’ Nick Frost walked his first day in Hagrid’s big boots on the set of the new HBO original series Harry Potter.”
