The song is a self-reflective piano ballad, with singer Ellie Rowsell singing about finding her peace despite unfulfilled plans: “Didn’t make it to California/ Where I thought I could clear the list/ Sounds a bit like Seven Sisters/ North London, oh, and maybe that’s okay.”
“It’s about not trying so hard to figure it all out, reflecting on aging, and trying not to agonize over things that have or haven’t happened in your life,” Rowsell explained in a press release. “It’s also about trying to understand the polarizing aspects of someone’s life when you’re in a band. You’ve just done a big tour—and you come home, and you’re having dinner on the couch. For me, it comes down to how I treat TV. I never watched the same thing because I thought I had so much to figure out! And now I’m fine, if it’s good if I haven’t watched, if I haven’t, I just want to think about it, that I’m fine, if I’m fine, if I’m fine, I don’t have to treat myself. Show Peep for the thirteenth time.”
