India closed Day 2 at 75/2 with a 52-run lead. Yashasvi Jaiswal led the charge with an unbeaten 51 before bad light ended the day. England took a 23-run lead after folding for 247 with Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna bagging four wickets each.
After a rain-curtailed Day 1 where only 64 overs were possible, India Cricket Team were bundled out for 224 with Karun Nair falling for 57 and Washington Sundar for 26. Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley dominated with a 92-run opening stand, but then, India took control. Duckett fell for 43 to Akash Deep while Prasidh Krishna dismissed Crawley for 64. Prasidh and Siraj combined to cut England down to 215/7 at tea.
