Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna achieved their career-best ratings of 674 points and 368 points in the latest ICC Test bowling ranking. Combined, both claimed 17 of the 19 wickets that fell in the India vs England 5th Test to claim one of the best overseas wins for India in their history at the Oval.
Siraj rewarded in the ICC Test bowling ranking
Both had received criticism for their performance in prior matches but stood up when it mattered the most. After his 5-wicket haul in the second innings and 9 wickets in total, Siraj has bowled 12 spots and broken into the ICC top 15 for the first time in his career.
Prior to the series, Prasidh was ranked 94 and had moved up to 84 after taking 6 wickets in the first two Tests. However, his two 4-wicket hauls have seen Prasidh move up a whopping 25 spots to 59.
Jaiswal de volta no high 5
As for batting, Yashasvi Jaiswal has returned to the top 5 of the ICC Test batting ranking after his hundred at the Oval. After failures in the 3rd and 4th Test, Jaiswal had dropped down. Now, he’s back where he belongs.
Shubman Gill dropped four spots down to 13th after his twin failures. Rishabh Pant remained in 8th place after missing the match due to his foot injury. Washington Sundar has moved up four places to 61 after his destructive half-century, while Dhruv Jurel moved up by just two spots to 87.
