Glenn Maxwell has roared back into form in spectacular fashion, smashing a brutal 49-ball century for Washington Freedom in the 2025 edition of Major League Cricket (MLC). With 13 towering sixes lighting up the Oakland Coliseum, Maxwell’s unbeaten 106 off 50 balls came in front of his watching parents and silenced any doubters after a dismal IPL 2025 with Punjab Kings (PBKS).
The swashbuckling right-hander, who managed just 48 runs in six IPL innings earlier this year, walked in at No. 6 with the Freedom trying to set a target against the Los Angeles Knight Riders. In fact, the score was 68/4 when Maxwell entered. Soon, it became 92/5.
After crawling to 11 off his first 15 balls, Maxwell exploded, hammering 95 runs in his next 34 deliveries. The knock was match-changing to say the least. It propelled WAF to 208/5, a target that seemed unattainable at one point.
