O técnico do Gujarat Titans, Ashish Nehra, apoiou Mohammed Siraj para se sair bem na Inglaterra e terminar com 25 a 30 postigos em seu nome
Gujarat Titans head coach Ashish Nehra has backed Mohammed Siraj to do well in the five-match Test series against England. The former Indian pacer, who worked closely with the fast bowler during IPL 2025, has expressed confidence in the Hyderabad bowler to adapt well to the conditions in the UK. The five-match Test series, which marks the start of India’s WTC campaign, will get underway with the 1st Test in Leeds on Friday.
Nehra backs Siraj to do well in England
In an virtual media interaction organized by Sony Sports Network, Nehra said that he won’t be surprised if Siraj finishes with 25-30 wickets in the series against England. He backed the GT pacer to be the leader of the bowling attack along with Jasprit Bumrah. Nehra pointed out that the duo of Bumrah and Siraj would only build on from what they have accomplished in the previous tours.
“Siraj has more experience now. So, I won’t be surprised if he finishes with 25-30 wickets in this series. He’s pretty much a leader of the attack with Bumrah. We have seen him bowling fiery spells in England earlier as well. He’s a fit, energetic, all-in guy who will give you even 20-22 overs if you need them and push himself harder whenever the team is in trouble,” Nehra said.
Further, Nehra dubbed fast-bowling as India’s strength in the series against England. He noted that Siraj and Bumrah were experienced pacers who had toured England previously and knew how to pick wickets. The GT coach said that provided there were no injuries, all Indian pacers were good enough to bowl longer spells.
“Someone like Prasidh Krishna has not played that much in England, but he is an experienced guy now. The kind of pace attack India have now, if there are no injuries, all these guys are good enough when it comes to bowling longer spells like 17-18 overs a day. So, I would rather say fast bowling is India’s strength on this tour,” Nehra added.
