Pegue quanto dinheiro o Sri Lanka ganhará com o ciclo de 2023-25 do Campeonato Mundial de Teste World (WTC), apesar de ter terminado em sexto na mesa.
The “Ultimate Test” is already upon us as the two World Test Championship (WTC) finalists, Australia and South Africa, are ready to battle it out at the iconic Lord’s. These are the two teams that ended up in the top two, with India failing to qualify after their loss at the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).

How did Sri Lanka do at WTC 2023/25?
Apart from the likes of India and New Zealand, another team that was in the WTC final qualification race at least till late 2024 is Sri Lanka. Dimuth Karunaratne led Sri Lanka for the majority of the run until the last two-match home Test series against Australia, where Dhananjaya de Silva replaced the opener as the skipper.
Sri Lanka started their cycle on the worst note possible. They were whitewashed 0-2 at home against a side who weren’t winning any Tests at home for a brief period of time, Pakistan. It left a huge dent in the Lankan plans before they redeemed themselves with their own 2-0 triumph in Bangladesh. The next two series were always going to be tricky, but the Asian Lions did well.
In their 3-match Test series against England, Sri Lanka lost the first two Tests but recorded an epic victory at the Oval to keep themselves in the hunt for a spot. It was a terrific win, built on the back of Angelo Matthews and Pathum Nissanka. Then, Sri Lanka humiliated New Zealand at home, with Kamindu Mendis also breaching a massive record. But the tough run of fixtures continued for Sri Lanka as their away Test series against South Africa proved to be a thorn.
Sri Lanka finished with 5 Test wins across 13 matches. They failed to draw any of the rest as the Lankan lions finished with 60 points and a 38.46 points percentage.
The ICC revealed the prize money based on the WTC table last month. While the winner of the third edition of the Championship will earn USD 3.6 million, the runners-up will get USD 2.16 million. As for Sri Lanka, they finished sixth on the table. This means, they will be earning USD 840,000, which equals to INR 7.1 crore. It is almost 25.1 crore in Sri Lankan rupee.
