Siraj ajudou a Índia com alguns primeiros avanços no dia 3 do ENG vs Ind 2nd Take a look at em Edgbaston, Birmingham
India cricket team pacer Mohammed Siraj tasted success early on Day 3 of ENG vs IND 2nd Test as he got a couple of crucial and early wickets on Day 3. The pacer managed to remove Joe Root and Ben Stokes in consecutive deliveries. Earlier, Siraj had managed to get rid of the Zak Crawley menace on Day 2 early on in England’s 1st innings.
Siraj’s double blow sends England reeling
Siraj’s first victim on Day 3 was Root who was caught behind while attempting a flick down the leg side off Siraj. England’s best batter was forced to depart for just 22 runs off 46 deliveries. In the very next ball, he got rid of England skipper Ben Stokes for a golden duck as he was caught behind once again by Pant.
Siraj has been under fire recently over his performances. Despite ending up as the second highest wicket-taker for India in AUS vs IND series after Bumrah, the Hyderabad fast bowler was criticised for not helping the former enough through the series.
In the 1st Test, he managed to get figures of 2/122 and 0/51, leading to questions over his inclusion in the playing XI. However, he has redeemed himself with his performance in the 1st innings of the 2nd Test.
Incidentally, Siraj has always performed better when Bumrah was a part of the playing XI.
“Siraj averages 34 in Tests when Jasprit Bumrah is in India’s XI and 26 when he isn’t. And that’s despite 17 of his 23 Tests alongside Bumrah coming in SENA compared to just 3 out of his 15 non-Bumrah Tests,” a stat stated.
