O Sri Lanka conseguiu terminar o dia 3 no XXX/X e Path Bangladesh por XXX, com Nissanka ficando aquém de sua donzela 200

Sri Lanka cricket team managed to fight back on Day 3 of SL vs BAN 1st Test in Galle, with Pathum Nissanka waging a lone-warrior battle. The hosts were put into bat on Day 3 after Bangladesh were bowled out for 495 runs in their 1st innings. While Sri Lanka have managed to reduce the trail margin by a good number, the game seems to be heading towards a draw.

Nissanka only silver lining in cloud for SL

Lahiru Udana (29) was the first batter to depart on Day 3 as he was caught and bowled by Taijul Islam in the 13th over. The opener managed to stitch a 47-run partnership with Nissanka before he was sent packing. Dinesh Chandimal (54) and Nissanka (187) then staged a brave fightback, stitching together a 157-run partnership.

Nissanka continued to put up a strong fight, first by getting to his century in the 43rd over followed by his 150 in the 64th over. Eventually, he was dismissed for187 runs, falling short of what was a well-deserved double century.

Angelo Mathews, who is playing what could possibly be his last Test, received a guard of honour from the Bangladesh players when he walked out to bat. He, too was involved in a 89 run partnership with Nissanka, before he was caught out by Litton Das off Mominul Haque for 39 runs.

Bangladesh bowlers shared success on Day 3, with Taijul, Mominul, Mahmud and Nayeem getting one wicket each.

Kamindu Mendis (37*) and Dhananjaya de Silva (17*) helped Sri Lanka finish at 368/4 on Day 3, with the hosts trailing Bangladesh by 127 runs. Earlier in the contest, Mushfiqur Rahim (163) and captain Najmul Hussain Shanto (148) helped Bangladesh get to a formidable 495-run total in the 1st innings. Litton Das (90) fell short of a well-deserved century before Sri Lankan bowlers stormed through the tailenders.
